Ramin is a timber used for plywood, interior woodwork, furniture, joinery and other light workshop parts.
Common uses
Ramin is used for plywood, flooring, furniture, joinery and moulding, shaped strips used as trim. It is also made into turnery, work shaped on a lathe, dowels and handles for non-striking tools such as brooms.
Working and polishing
The timber can be worked with hand or machine tools, although it has a moderate tendency to blunt cutting edges. For a polished surface, fill the grain before polishing so the finish can lie evenly.
