• VeneerWood sliced into thin sheets, thin enough to bend and glue onto a backing, with one log yielding several matching sheets.
• PlywoodA manufactured board of thin wood veneers glued together with the grain of each layer crossed against the next.
• MdfA manufactured board of pressed wood fibres with no single grain direction, so it behaves differently on the bench from solid timber.
