A combination plane is a hand plane arranged to make more than one kind of cut. Its body accepts different cutters or settings for different joinery profiles.
Basic form
The plane has a body, a sole that bears on the wood, and a cutter that removes it. Changing the cutter or its setting changes the form of the cut.
